Schultz Family Christmas Letter 1993

RONALD and SANDRA SCHULTZ

Christmas 1993

Friends,

How awesome! That God would give His Son! for you! and for me!! Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift!

We think of God coming into the world as a babe at Christmas, but He was here as a formed person over 8 months before in Mary's womb; in the humble estate of an unborn baby, God took on flesh in the normal way after a miraculous conception. He sanctified preborn life -- and by his act and influence did more to "make abortion rare" than even President Clinton who said he would.

Jesus also comes with the good news that all who repent (even of the sin of abortion) and believe on Him have forgiveness and eternal life. Have you received God's gift?

That's the good news worth writing about; but, since we have some paper left, here's some news of the Schultz family (We literally broke the camera trying to take this year's family photo).

RON

  • cut tree by garage into face-cord of firewood; now if he'd only finish fixing the fireplace...!
  • with Sandy taught part of summer Sunday School.
  • is on 4-day 36-hour weeks w/DWSD, babysat some for MOPs (moms of preschoolers).
  • had a stinky job in Colorado and Texas (went there via Georgia) but the OT pay was nice; did get to visit briefly with Hillenburgs at Denver.
  • worked as a poll-watcher in mayoral election, attended the party.
  • read to the boys Bainton's Luther "Here I Stand", Belles on Their Toes, and biographies of C. H. Spurgeon, Sandy, and Eric Liddell.
  • after 8 years as editor, turned over Michigan LFL newsletter to another
  • got a hard disk, Dos 5, and a lust for more; learned Lotus 1-2-3, WordPerfect, Windows.
SANDY
  • continued as Vice President of Lutherans for Life of Michigan.
  • became VP of PTL of Guardian Lutheran School.
  • started progress charts with kids: pizza party with movie on Friday when all kids do all things on chart
  • Attended a Ron Blue financial seminar and hopes by next Christmas to have finances under control.
  • was amazed that Ron drove 22450 miles returning home from Lawrenceville, Ill!
THE CHILDREN:

6th grader PAUL has a laptop computer, played soccer in both N. Rosedale and school leagues, Mom running him from one game to other!

4th grader MARK dug a hole to China, played little league baseball, went on class trip to Mill Lake (w/ his mommy) where Mark excelled in underwater canoeing! He cleaned gutters. He and John were in wrestling.

2nd grader JOHN won the 1-4th grade spelling Bee 2nd time, tho too sick to be in class all day. PAUL and JOHN read thousands of pages in '93.

JOY's art's blossomed in Kindergarten; she has developed a new art form: foam food tray drawings. Joy graduated from kindergarten with mortar board and great ceremony. At 6 she now reads her Bible to Mommy at bedtime. Joy is now part of Ron's catechism classes w/PMJ on weekends. She awarded her Daddy the cuddle award tho he thinks she may be the true winner.

Boys learned chess; Paul beat his Dad once; but he's already faster at typing than his Dad! (Boys must do an hour with PC-Fastype before an hour of video games!)

School candy sales seemed to take on such overriding importance that Paul bought John's sales contracts by doing John's turns at dishes until Christmas!

Ron & PMJJ dug in Acres of Diamonds and enjoyed Mid America Museum etc in Arkansas while Sandy was there for LFL meeting (kids who cross the Mississippi twice without a bath are dirty double crossers).

After learning to swim, water-sliding and diving in Illinois and Indiana, PMJJ had swimming lessons in Livonia while Sandy was on a Jury and Ron, househusband. At the Liponoga reunion by Lake St Clair we swam in the seaweed; MARK fished.

After a fishing lesson from Forrest Convery, and catching of one fish, PMJ started a log cabin at Mustache Hunting Club; at current rate they will be men before it is finished.

All of us but Ron went with Mom to see West Virginia (my what hills!).

Each month the kids spent time with UNCLE BILL -- or was it with his video games? He received a Schwinn for his birthday and has peddled all over Troy.

Ron's Niece CHRISTINE got private pilot license in September and is now working on instrument rating. His sister is selling Little Joe's house to her son LITTLE JOE.

Sandy's BRO JOHN worked again at Yellowstone; he said enough of that! He bought a 386 computer.

Sandy's UNCLE STANLEY ROGALSKI after suffering some months came to rest 6/3/93.

As we look forward to the Savior's second advent may the year of our Lord 1994 be for you and yours a year of great good, grateful faith, and grand hope.

Ron, Sandy, Paul, Mark, John, and Joy
